Whenever I'm feeling down or depressed about my job or when I feel like I'm not valued by my users and coworkers, I always turn to my favorite blog post about the awesomeness of librarians. "Why you should fall to your knees and worship a librarian" is the perfect pick-me-up for a day when I'm feeling unappreciated.
I think my favorite passage is
"Librarians are all-knowing and all-seeing. They bring order to chaos. They bring wisdom and culture to the masses. They preserve every aspect of human knowledge. Librarians rule."Because librarians do rule. We know this; our patrons know this (or they would if they actually thought about it). But sometimes we just need a little reminder. So next time you are feeling a little undervalued or not getting any respect, check this out. And remind yourself that librarians rule!
